Expressions of Interest: Media and Campaigns Officer

Office of Ash Ambihaipahar MP, Member for Barton

Location: Kogarah Classification: Full Time Electorate Officer

We are seeking expressions of interest for a digital first Media and Campaigns Officer to join the Office of Ash Ambihaipahar MP, Member for Barton.

This role will cover the following duties:

Managing the Member’s social media accounts, website and digital ad spend

Drafting newsletters, social media content and media releases

Capturing, editing and distributing high quality digital content

Monitoring media, community sentiment and stakeholder issues

Supporting continuous campaigning and electorate visibility initiatives

Managing media equipment and creative subscriptions

Executing print communications

Delegating and overseeing media and campaign tasks for junior staff

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience managing social media and websites

Understands digital first media strategies and audience engagement best practices

Is confident in content creation

Can plan and execute paid digital advertising plans

Can manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and mentor junior staff

Is committed to the values of the Australian Labor Party

This position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 27 which include:

A commencing salary of $80,095

An additional optional allowance of up to $29,082 will also be negotiated in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work

Relocation assistance, studies assistance and paid study leave my also be available (subject to eligibility requirements)

An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable
