About Us
This faith based organisation is the Australian Province of an international society that provides services across Australia including in education, seniors living, and spirituality. It also supports a community of religious and manages its property portfolio.
The Role
The Property & Facilities Manager is responsible ensuring that the real property assets of the Australian Province are maintained, managed and the return on those assets maximised.
The work of the Property & Facilities Manager includes:
Property Revies to ensure the best utilisation of those assets;
Recommending how each of those properties might be utilised to maximise return;
Putting licencing or leasehold arrangements in place;
Project Manage the acquisition, divestment and/or development of Province land and buildings;
Develop Business case models for specific projects, including financial modelling and forecasting;
Manage budgets related to property projects including preparation and presentation of regular financial status reports;
Manage complex stakeholder relationships;
Ensure short & long term facilities maintenance plans are in place for Province properties and facilities;
Ensure Province land and assets, including associated development, use and maintenance complies with planning and other regulations;
Undertake property risk assessments and manage those risks.
Experience:
The person we are looking for will have all or some of the following:
Post secondary qualifications in property development, building, project management, business management or a related discipline;
A comprehensive knowledge of property services as well as the regulatory environment governing commercial property transactions and their impact on the management of the property and infrastructure of the Province;
A comprehensive understanding of commercial property transactions in commercial and not for profit organisations;
Demonstrated understanding of valuation methodologies;
Proven ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of property and facilities management best practice and apply this in the workplace;
A proven record in property services, property development, compliance, business case development, managing change, sustaining effective relationships and maintaining effective networking across a broad range of stakeholders;
Previous responsibility for a property services function and be able to demonstrate appropriate commercial property outcomes in the context of the wider Provincial agenda;
Demonstrated commercial acumen in property transactions development strategies;
Previous oversight of large-scale facilities maintenance programs including implementation of short & long term maintenance plans, administration of maintenance program contracts and supervision of facilities management staff;
High level skills in contemporary computer applications including the Microsoft Office suite along with excellent word processing, telephone and diary management skills;
Ability to work with minimal supervision while still being a team player;
Willingness to work face to face in an office environment.
