HBT National Buying Group is looking for passionate, self-motivated individuals to join our team in a high-impact, on-the-road role that connects directly with our independent member stores and supplier partners.
As a Member Support Manager, you’ll be on the frontline - visiting member stores, helping ensure they’re getting the most from their supplier relationships, and advocating for the best possible outcomes. You’ll be a crucial bridge between our members and suppliers, championing both sides and supporting strong, sustainable growth for the independent retail channel. This role suits someone with experience in sales, account management, or supplier negotiations - particularly in the hardware, hard goods, or food and grocery sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Visit member stores Australia-wide to build relationships and understand their business needs.
Ensure members are on the best possible deal terms with HBT suppliers, including accessing applicable rebates.
Recommend appropriate suppliers to members based on their store type, size, and needs.
Support members with supplier-related queries or escalations, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience.
Advocate for both members and suppliers - ensuring mutual benefit and ongoing trust.
Maintain strong product and industry knowledge to provide up-to-date insights.
Represent HBT professionally and positively in all interactions.
Reports to: General Manager of Buying
About You:
Strong experience in a sales rep, account manager, or BDM-style role - ideally in hard goods, hardware, or FMCG.
Down-to-Earth, confident, personable, and capable of working independently on the road.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Business-minded - able to understand deals, margins, and the rebate structures that benefit members.
A natural problem-solver with a member-first mindset.
Comfortable using basic digital tools for reporting and communication.
Valid driver’s licence required.
