Location: Crows Nest, NSW (with regular travel to Ingleburn & Somersby, 1 location per week ( 1day per week) and bi-monthly travel to Dubbo or as required)
Salary: $150,000 – $170,000 + Superannuation
Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent
About the Opportunity Our client, a leading organisation in the manufacturing and operations sector, is seeking a highly capable and strategic People & Culture Operations Business Partner to support their NSW operations. This is a critical role for a seasoned HR professional with a strong background in industrial environments, who can lead through change, build future-ready teams, and drive workforce transformation.
This role is based in Crows Nest and involves regular travel to key operational sites. The successful candidate will work closely with site leaders to deliver people strategies that support business transformation, workforce optimisation, and long-term growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, aligning HR strategies with business goals.
- Lead and support change transformation initiatives, including organisational design, cultural change, and workforce planning.
- Drive succession planning and talent development to ensure leadership continuity and capability growth.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations to manage people-related budgets and workforce costs.
Employee & Industrial Relations
- Provide expert guidance on complex ER/IR matters, including Award and EBA interpretation, conflict resolution, and union engagement.
- Manage EBA negotiations and maintain strong union relationships.
- Ensure consistent and fair HR practices that promote a positive employee experience.
- Act as the escalation point for payroll-related issues and administrative support.
Workforce Planning & Recruitment
- Guide operational leaders in workforce planning, including transitioning from labour hire to permanent workforce models.
- Support recruitment processes, including interviews, onboarding, and probation management.
- Challenge and improve recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
Performance & Capability Development
- Champion the performance management cycle, ensuring effective goal setting, reviews, and development planning.
- Support the implementation of learning and development initiatives, including the use of LMS platforms.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Compliance, Safety & ESG
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, WHS standards, and internal governance frameworks.
- Promote and support the company’s ESG and sustainability initiatives.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive workplace culture, aligned with organisational values.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior HR Business Partner or People & Culture role, ideally within manufacturing, logistics, or industrial sectors.
- Proven experience in change transformation environments and building high-performing teams.
- Strong ER/IR expertise, with a deep understanding of complex EBAs and enterprise bargaining processes.
- Demonstrated success in workforce planning and transitioning from labour hire to permanent staffing models.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to manage and influence people-related budgets.
- Excellent stakeholder management, coaching, and influencing skills across all levels.
- Proficiency in HR systems (HRIS, ATS, LMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.
