Hays is the preferred supplier choice of Federal, State and Local Government organisations. I have partnered with a Federal Government Agency to recruit an APS5 Corporate Support Officer (Office Manager) for a full-time temporary assignment in St Mary's, Adelaide, SA until December 2026.

Your new role

As an APS5 Corporate Support Officer, you are a key team member responsible for organising workflow and making independent decisions within their area of responsibility. This role involves providing policy advice based on policies and legislation, and requires considerable contact with internal and external stakeholders to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Work closely with teams responsible for property, fleet management, IT, business resilience, and workplace health and safety to ensure smooth operations
  • Oversee and promote the roles of Fire Wardens, First Aid Officers, Workplace Health and Safety Officers, and Diversity Officers, ensuring compliance
  • Organise and coordinate workplace hazard inspections and maintain site risk registers to keep our environment safe
  • Arrange and manage training sessions for handling unreasonable behaviour, aggression response, and emergency evacuations
  • Maintaining Office Inventory with supplies, stationery, and engagement materials to support daily operations
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships across sites to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Ability to use computer/software applications, including Microsoft Office

What you'll need to succeed

  • Leadership: Expertise in your field and ability to manage workflow and priorities
  • Management: Skill in setting work priorities, monitoring workflow, and playing a role in coaching, guiding, and developing employees to enhance their performance and growth
  • Problem-Solving: Proficiency in resolving issues and improving service quality
  • Decision-Making: Ability to follow guidelines and make independent judgments
  • Communication: Strong skills in advising and negotiating with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position of office management
  • Working with Children's Check, NDIS Workers Screening Check and Government Security Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Australian Citizenship
