The Organisation:

Our client is currently seeking an experienced APS5 Office Manager to join a team within a Federal Government Agency based in St Mary’s.

This Government agency works with people with disability, providers, and the community to deliver nationally consistent, responsive, and effective regulation of service providers. They seek to uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of people with disability receiving supports or services.

The Role:

The APS5 Office Manager is a team membership position and is accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility. The position will be required to provide policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation.
The position will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Liaising with relevant enabling teams including Property, Fleet, ICT, Business Resilience and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS).
• Managing Fire Warden, First Aid Officer, WHS Officer and Diversity Officer processes ensuring compliance and promoting these roles within their respective sites.
• Coordination of Workplace Hazard Inspections and Site Risk Registers.
• Coordination of procedures for Managing Unreasonable Behaviour (MUB), Aggression Response Team Training (ARTT) and TrimEVAC training.
• Managing office supplies, stationery, stock levels of engagement materials and publications.
• Managing sites within demographic remit including site visits and general site communications.
• Building relationships across sites including establishment of strong connections with site.

To be considered you will demonstrate:

• Responsible for coordinating competing requests and demands, setting priorities and managing the workflow for immediate work area.
• Sets the direction of work priorities and practices, monitors workflow, and plays a role in coaching, guiding and developing employees.
• Identify problems or issues and resolve or establish treatments to mitigate.
• Ability to use good judgement to resolve workplace issues.
• Communicate with and provide advice and recommendations to a wide variety of customers and external stakeholders.
• Apply initiatives to maximise the benefits of change and contributes to the improvement in quality and efficiency of services.
• Identify problems or issues and resolve or establish treatments to mitigate.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong administration experience and good IT skills.

Desirable skills:

• Previous experience in disability or health field.
• Well-developed understanding of relevant statutory, regulatory and policy frameworks and ability to apply to a range of activities and solutions to a range of problems.
