This position is classified as a Band 7 ($85,987 to $94,294 p.a pro rata) under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

A rare opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, specialist Community Development Officer (Inclusion and Healthy Ageing) to join our remarkable Community Development team at the City of Kwinana. This is a permanent, part time position reporting to the Coordinator Community Development, and working alongside a stellar team of passionate and dedicated Officers.
As the successful candidate you will facilitate partnerships and connect local community members and groups to foster a broad understanding of access and inclusion priorities. Your highly developed interpersonal skills will guide you as you strive to build connections and capacity in the community for seniors and people with disability by facilitating a wide range of community development and engagement activities and projects.
Together with a team of like-minded professionals you will support local identity, encourage a sense of belonging, and celebrate Kwinana’s unique strengths.
What You’ll Need
To make an impact as our new Community Development Officer you will have…
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar or related role, preferably in a local government setting.
Well-developed knowledge of, and demonstrated commitment to, community development, community engagement, and social inclusion principles.
Sound knowledge of contemporary practice and policy relating to healthy ageing, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Highly developed interpersonal, teamwork, communication, networking, and relationship building skills with a demonstrated ability to be able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Well-developed analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Tertiary qualification in community development, social justice, behavioural science, sociology, related fields, or relevant industry experience.
Advanced written communication and computer literacy skills, with experience in report writing, record management and preparing funding submissions and acquittals in line with grant requirements.
Driver’s licence, willingness to obtain Police Clearance, First Aid Certificate.
Ability to work after hours and weekends.
