Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing a variety of breads, baked goods and desserts, ensuring high quality and consistency, and managing the pastry section.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a variety of desserts and breads according to established recipes and standards
- Monitor and maintain quality and consistency of pastry products
- Train and supervise pastry staff as needed
- Operate and maintain pastry equipment, including mixers, ovens, and refrigerators
- Ensure that all pastry items are prepared and served in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and organised pastry kitchen, including cleaning equipment and work areas
- Assist with menu planning and development, including the creation of seasonal and specialty items

Requirements:
- Have one of the following:
o Relevant AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training;
o Relevant AQF Certificate IV;
o At least 3 years of relevant experience as a pastry chef or in a similar role in a professional kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of pastry and dessert preparation techniques and culinary trends
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the head chef and/or sous chef
- Flexibility to work in different areas of the kitchen as needed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
