Farmers Bakehouse is an artisan bakery specialising in hand-crafted bread, cakes, pastries, and our famous pies. Our team bakes many styles of artisan bread, cakes and desserts which are all 100% free of artificial preservatives and are hand crafted.

The role
We are looking for an Assistant Pastry Cook who can support our lead Pastry Chef/ Manager to oversee the creation and development of our cakes, patisseries and sweet treat offerings, which are all uniquely curated and made to order. You will be responsible for:

Creating and baking a wide selection of cakes, patisseries and sweet treats from scratch and to the specifications of our clients' orders

Assist the Pastry Manager to source local and whole ingredients to create our products

Innovate our existing product line and introduce new products dependent on demand and season

Prepare dough, pastry and fillings from scratch and in accordance with our specially curated recipes

Responsible for mixing, kneading, and baking artisanal breads.

Work in the bakery production ensuring quality and efficiency.

Work with other team members across the business - Bakers and Pastry Cook to deliver our products in accordance with our high standards.

Experience
The successful applicant will:

have at least 2 years experience within the industry.

be able to work with team members and on their own with integrity and reliability.

Extensive knowledge of baking and pastry-making techniques

Artistic skill in decorating desserts

Must be physically capable of lifting/moving equipment, and standing for long periods.

In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles and food preparation standards

Strong leadership skills and an ability to provide clear instructions to other team members

Familiarity with a range of baking and other kitchen equipment

Excellent communication skills and an enthusiasm for teamwork

Salary: AUD: 75,000- 80,000 Per Year plus 11.5% Superannuation.
