I’m currently partnering with a leading commercial construction company to recruit a Safety Officer for high-end residential projects across Brisbane.

In this role, you'll take ownership of on-site safety coordination from start to finish—ensuring compliance, promoting a proactive safety culture, and supporting the project team through audits, reporting, and risk management activities.

To succeed, you'll need proven experience as a Safety Officer in the commercial construction industry and a track record of long-term roles with well-regarded builders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with health and safety laws and internal policies.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform risk assessments and implement control measures to minimize risks.
• Maintain safety risk registers and ensure documentation is current and accurate.
• Deliver site inductions for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors.

About you

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar HSE role within commercial construction
• Well-rounded HSE expertise specific to the commercial construction sector
• Certificate IV in WHS/OHS (at a minimum)
• Experience on large-scale, high-value commercial projects
