About the role

Temporary full time opportunity to provide advanced clinical expertise and care relevant to individuals appearing before the magistrates' court or detained in the local watch-house with the focus on providing mental health screening assessments and facilitating diversion for this cohort.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Undertake mental health assessments (including those people with complex psychosocial circumstances) in watch house and court settings by using a high degree of independent judgement and problem solving skills.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team; with police and justice personnel and with patients/clients.
  • Monitoring and reporting on clinical practices and outcomes within the Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service (QFMHS) and actively participate in initiating, developing and implementing quality and service improvement activities.
