About the role:

The Clinical Development and Support Coach is responsible for training, supporting and mentoring our Trainee Dental Assistants at the Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne ensuring they deliver clinical service excellence to patients. The role assists the DA Coaches, Senior DA’s and Team Leaders in providing support and assistance to a range of specific development activities within the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Shadow and provide immediate one on one feedback and coaching Trainees
  • Support in the day-to-day clinical supervision and coaching of trainees ensuring completion of their training requirements.
  • Provide regular feedback to Senior Dental Assistants on the progress of new dental assistants within their teams
  • Provide the Dental Assistant Team Leader with input on key developmental areas of staff in the team to support the continuing learning and development interventions for the team
  • Actively engaging in operational activities including meetings, managing complaints and accreditation requirements

About you:

  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to complete within 12 months of appointment to the position)
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience as a dental assistant
  • Strong knowledge of patient care processes and techniques within an oral health environment
  • Strong knowledge of safety and compliance guidelines within a clinical setting
  • Experience in coaching and managing the performance of trainees in a clinical environment (preferable)
