Selection Criteria:
· You must have full Australian working rights
· Demonstrated skills in working with people with disability, injury or illness.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build trusting relationships with people, and ability to deal sensitively with distress.
· Recognition of the importance of employment for students living with a disability.
· Commitment to assisting people with disability to build skills and achieve their goals.
· Excellent IT literacy, planning, coordination and time management skills.
· Ability to be flexible, resourceful, demonstrate initiative and contribute in an environment of innovation with element of trial and error.
· Ability to engage in reflection, discussion, consultation and adaptation of program where necessary.
· Outcome focused without losing the priority of the individual participant’s wellbeing.
· Demonstrated team work and autonomous initiative.
· Ability to provide a recent National Police Check and Working with Children check.
· Tertiary qualification in relevant fields of employability, business, human resources/recruitment, employment services, disability services, community services, social work, coaching, counselling and psychology or extensive relevant experience.
· Demonstrate the WISE attributes: Customer Centricity, Curiosity, Resilience, Adaptability, Creativity and a Growth Mindset
· Hold a full Australian driver’s license
Desirable Criteria:
· Experience in the Disability Employment sector, counselling, coaching, recruitment and/or teaching.
· Knowledge of other Commonwealth, State and local government programs and initiatives including other mental health programs, as well as networks in community based support.
A day in the role involves…
Supporting students identified as living with a disability, injury or illness to develop a portfolio of skills, knowledge and experiences that will empower and enable their career wellbeing and confidence. Increasing their social and economic participation by supporting them to gain paid employment at a graduate or entry level by providing personalised coaching and resources.
· Working with individual participants to build rapport and coach them throughout the program.
· Competing a range of assessments with each participant during the program.
· Co-facilitating group sessions to participants to support career wellbeing and development.
· Maintaining contact with participants, universities and industry partners and liaising with external support providers as required.
· Supporting participants to manage their individual career wellbeing plans including identifying potential work orientation, work experience opportunities and employment placements whilst liaising with and supporting industry partners.
· Assisting with research and evaluation of the program.
· Promoting the program to build referrals.
· Presenting at forums/conferences as required.
· Writing reports for each allocated participant at the end of each assessment whilst ensuring all requirements for documentation and storage of information are met.
