Nixon Electrics

Flexible hours. Real impact. Room to grow.
At NIXON, we’re not your typical workplace. We’re a close-knit team that cares deeply about what we do and how we do it. We believe in showing up with integrity, working with purpose and looking after our people along the way.
We’re on the lookout for a switched-on Finance Officer to join our growing team. This part-time role is ideal for someone who wants meaningful work with flexibility built in. Maybe you’re returning to the workforce after some time away or just looking to balance work and life a little differently. Either way, if you’ve got a sharp eye for detail, a knack for numbers and love working with good people, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be working closely with our CFO and supporting the day-to-day financial operations that keep the business humming. We’re a growing team, so there’s variety in the work and plenty of opportunity to step up and grow with us.
Here’s a bit of what the role includes:
Managing accounts receivable including invoice entry, reconciliation and keeping things on track
Monitoring the ledger and following up on any overdue accounts
Looking for ways to streamline and improve how we do things
Managing trade credit applications and helping to set and monitor payment limits alongside the CFO
Supporting accounts payable during busy periods or staff leave
Helping the CFO with external stakeholders like banks, insurers and IT partners
Assisting with reconciliations, compliance tasks and reporting
Staying on top of admin like document filing and general finance support
What we’re looking for
We’re after someone who’s practical, reliable and ready to roll up their sleeves. You’ll be the kind of person who takes pride in doing things properly and keeping the wheels turning behind the scenes.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
Experience in a finance or accounting admin role (bonus points if it’s in a commercial setting)
Solid skills with Outlook, Excel and Word, and confidence using Xero
Experience with Simpro is great but not essential – we can train you
Great communication skills – written, verbal and everything in between
A can-do attitude, strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
Flexibility and adaptability in a team that’s growing and evolving
A qualification in accounting or finance is handy, but not a deal breaker if you’ve got the right experience and approach.
What we’re offering
A part-time role at 0.6 FTE with flexibility in how your hours are spread across the week
A chance to return to meaningful work with the support of a great team
The potential to grow your hours as the business grows
A supportive, purpose-led workplace that values relationships and contribution
A team that genuinely cares and has each other’s backs
Ready to apply?
If this sounds like the right fit for you, we’d love to hear from you. Send through your resume and a quick cover letter telling us a bit about yourself and why you're interested in the role.
Let’s do good work, together.
