Our team is driven by excellence in execution, and we’re now seeking an experienced SMP Project Manager to help deliver key projects and contribute to business growth through estimating and tendering.

About the Role

The Project Manager will oversee SMP project delivery across multiple industrial and mining sites in the Gladstone and Bowen Basin regions. You will manage all aspects of structural steel, mechanical, and piping works — from planning and execution to completion and handover.

This role also includes estimating and preparing competitive tender submissions, contributing to the company’s continued project wins and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and deliver SMP projects from award through to final handover.

Oversee structural steel, mechanical installations, and piping scopes on site.

Manage project budgets, schedules, risk, and reporting.

Coordinate internal construction crews, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Ensure compliance with WHSE, quality, and contractual requirements.

Maintain clear communication and strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Estimate SMP project scopes and prepare tender submissions.

Assist in pre-contract planning to align awarded scopes with execution strategy.

Skills & Experience

Demonstrated experience managing SMP construction projects in mining or industrial environments.

Strong background in mechanical and piping systems, as well as structural steel fabrication/installation.

Proven ability to estimate projects and prepare competitive tender proposals.

Sound commercial and contractual understanding (costing, claims, variations).

Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Prior experience working in the Gladstone region and Bowen Basin is highly desirable.

Qualifications & Requirements

10+ years in the SMP sector, including 3–5 years in a Project Manager or Senior Supervisor role.

Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

Experience with CHPPs, shutdowns, or major industrial infrastructure projects.

Supervisor tickets (S123, G2), White Card, and current First Aid (or ability to obtain).

Valid Driver’s Licence.

This role is Gladstone-based — not FIFO/DIDO.

Desirable (Not Essential)

Cert IV ,Diploma, Bachelor in Leadership and Management/ project management

Mental Health First Aid or Advanced First Aid

Exposure to procurement and construction supply chains

Formal training in estimating or tender preparation
