SUMMARY:

An excellent interim, part-time opportunity for an experienced in-house lawyer to join a leading e-commerce company with operations across North America, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. This role focuses on complex commercial contracts - drafting, negotiating, and reviewing key agreements.

THE ROLE:

As Interim Senior Legal Counsel, your primary focus will be working with the business on the negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts, from basic to complex, in Australia and overseas.

Key Details:

Start Date: Mid-June

Location: Sydney, CBD

Duration: 3 months initially with options

Days per week: Part-time (3 or maybe 4 days a week)

Flexibility/Employment: Hybrid working is available

Reporting to: Acting General Counsel. We can personally vouch for the General Counsel. They are an incredible lawyer and leader, and someone who lives their values.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements in Australia, the US, and the UK.

Advising the business on contract risks, obligations, and commercial considerations.

Working closely with internal teams to ensure agreements align with business objectives.

Managing contract lifecycles and compliance requirements.

ABOUT YOU:

You are an experienced in-house lawyer with a background in negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts. You can prioritise, manage risk, and provide practical legal advice. Key qualifications include:

A current Australian legal practising certificate.

At least 8 years PQE, with strong experience in commercial contracts.

A pragmatic and commercial approach to legal issues.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively.

ON OFFER:

Up to $220k p.a. inc. super FTE (depending on experience)
