Work From Home Opportunity: Trainer & Assessor in Community Services & Mental Health
Are you passionate about education and community support? Open Colleges is seeking an experienced Trainer & Assessor to join our School of Health portfolio on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference—all from the comfort of your own home.
About the Role
This full-time, remote position is open to candidates anywhere in Australia and is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract. You'll be delivering and assessing nationally recognised qualifications, including:
Certificate III and Diploma of Community Services
Certificate IV in Mental Health / Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)
Enjoy the flexibility of remote work while contributing to meaningful education outcomes for learners.
Key Responsibilities
Assess student submissions and provide timely, constructive feedback (70% assessment marking focus)
Facilitate engaging and inclusive online learning sessions via webinars and digital platforms
Maintain accurate student records and meet compliance standards
Support students throughout their placements, including communication with workplace supervisors
Contribute to the continuous improvement of training materials and validation processes
Stay up to date with industry trends to ensure course relevance
What You Bring
Minimum 3 years of full-time industry experience in community services and/or mental health/AOD
Recent industry engagement (at least 60 hours in the last 12 months)
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent with the required units)
Strong digital skills and familiarity with online learning tools
Exceptional communication and organisational abilities
Commitment to student success and inclusive education practices
Right to work in Australia and compliance with industry currency standards
