We have an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator Cultural Strategy to join our team!

What You Will Do:

We are seeking an experienced strategic leader who will play a key role in developing and delivering strategic cultural programs, strategies and policies that inspire, engage, and enrich the Cairns region. Leading a talented team, you will foster strong partnerships and manage diverse projects that elevate the arts and culture landscape across Council and the wider community.

What We Are Looking For:

Tertiary qualification in at least one of the following fields – cultural planning, arts management, or equivalent experience in related fields.

Experience at a high level in managing a business with a key focus on one or more of art and culture program delivery, human resources, marketing and project management.

A valid C Class Drivers Licence and the ability to independently drive between Council managed venues.

Extensive related experience in local government planning, creative development and/or cultural planning.

Demonstrated high-level portfolio and project management experience involving complex and multi-disciplined teams, including ability to prepare work plans and budgets.

Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and engage a multi-function team, manage change and operate in an environment that promotes excellence.

Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of cultural planning, public involvement and the integration of environmental, social and heritage values within a cultural planning framework.
