About the Role:
As the Cultural Capability Manager, you will collaborate across all departments and divisions within DCC Industry Group to enhance outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This pivotal role provides expert advice and guidance in the development, implementation, and review of policies, strategies, and programs to ensure culturally secure and responsive services. Drawing on deep cultural knowledge and lived experience, you will lead initiatives that promote respectful, authentic relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. You will play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s cultural capability by embedding culturally appropriate practices and fostering ongoing cultural learning throughout the organisation.
Main responsibilities will include:
• Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing review of culturally secure policies, strategies, and frameworks across the organisation to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Provide expert cultural advice and guidance to senior leadership, program teams, and stakeholders to embed cultural capability throughout service delivery.
• Foster and maintain strong, respectful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Elders, and organisations to ensure that programs are culturally responsive and community-led.
• Provide and engage in community consultation, embedding and adhering to local cultural protocols with community elders and relevant representatives.
• Oversee cultural competency training and professional development initiatives for staff at all levels to enhance cultural awareness and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies reflect cultural inclusion and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and carers.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of cultural capability initiatives and prepare reports for leadership and funding bodies to demonstrate impact and compliance.
• Support and mentor Cultural Practice Advisors and other cultural liaison staff, promoting knowledge sharing and capacity building.
• Advocate for the integration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within all organisational programs and services.
• Ensure alignment with relevant legislation, frameworks, and community expectations in all cultural capability activities.

Base salary of $100,000 $110,000 per annum + company car + leave + superannuation.
