We’re looking for a strategic and tenacious Business Development Manager to join our Assurance Learning Sales team at Intertek SAI Global. This role is all about new business acquisition — identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, and selling tailored training solutions that support compliance, risk, and assurance.

We are open to applicants based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth.

About the Role

As BDM, you’ll own the full sales cycle — from strategic targeting and outbound prospecting through to closing deals. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to offer bespoke training services that solve real business problems.

You’ll be part of a supportive national sales team but have full autonomy to drive your region’s new business revenue. We’re after someone who’s hungry to succeed, commercially sharp, and not afraid to pick up the phone.

Key responsibilities:

Drive new business acquisition through proactive prospecting, networking, and strategic outreach

Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with national revenue goals

Identify and engage new clients across priority sectors – especially public sector and compliance-heavy industries

Prepare and deliver professional proposals, tender submissions and C-suite presentations

Build long-term relationships and referral networks, including leveraging consultants and SAICAP contacts

Maintain accurate and up-to-date Salesforce records and contribute to regular sales reporting

Collaborate cross-functionally with training delivery, operational and technical teams to deliver an exceptional client experience

Skills and Experience:

You’re a seasoned B2B sales professional who thrives in a solution-based selling environment. You bring energy, confidence and commercial acumen — with a passion for helping businesses meet training and compliance goals.

What you’ll bring:

10+ years in B2B sales or business development, ideally in professional services, L&D, or compliance

Demonstrated ability to win new business and exceed revenue targets

Strong network and experience in public sector (preferred)

Proven success managing complex sales cycles, proposals and tender responses

High-level presentation skills and ability to engage with executive decision-makers

Strong time management, self-discipline and organisational skills

Professional and persuasive communication style

Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools
