The role
Elka is a new bakery, specialising in sourdough breads and pastries. The business will be opening four new sites within three months, with production to be within the main site in Heidelberg, with distribution from this site to the other locations.
As the head pastry chef, you will work directly with the management, in leading the direction of the business. You will lead the pastry team in the planning, preparation and baking of all pastries and croissants.
Qualifications & experience
Proven record of innovation
A strong understanding in creating quality pastries
Excellent leader with strong communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent food hygiene standards
Tasks & responsibilities
Leading the planning, production and preparation for the weeks and months schedule
Upholding cleanliness of the premises
Excellent knowledge of the industry and the ability to innovate and create new products
Preparation and rotation of ingredients for daily production
Other general duties as required such as cleaning
The work involves early morning starts and availability to work a seven days rotating roster.
