Mount Isa Day Nursery and Kindergarten is a not-for-profit, long-standing early childhood service that proudly supports families across Mount Isa. We provide high-quality education and care for children from birth to school age, guided by the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework.
The Administration Lead at Mount Isa Day Nursery and Kindergarten plays a pivotal leadership role in supporting the daily operations of the service. This multifaceted position combines educational leadership, administrative oversight, digital engagement, and community building to create a high-quality, welcoming, and compliant early learning environment. The Administration Lead supports the Centre Director while acting as a positive role model for staff, families, and children.
Key Responsibilities Include:
✅ Leadership & Team Support
Support the Centre Director in day-to-day operations and act in a leadership capacity when required.
Collaborate with educators to uphold a high-quality, inclusive learning environment.
Mentor and support staff through guidance, rostering, and planning assistance.
✅ Administration & Compliance
Oversee front desk operations and manage all enrolment processes, attendance tracking, and parent onboarding.
Maintain accurate records for compliance, licensing, immunisation, and audits in alignment with NQF and EYLF.
Schedule appointments, staff rosters, centre tours, and meetings.
Assist in preparing for quality improvement reviews and regulatory audits.
✅ Family & Community Engagement
Be the first point of contact for families—answering inquiries, resolving concerns, and creating a welcoming, professional environment.
Coordinate and attend community events, build partnerships with local groups, and represent the service positively.
Organise and support parent engagement activities, events, and feedback initiatives.
✅ Social Media & Digital Communication
Manage and grow the centre’s social media presence to reflect our values, promote enrolments, and share the joy of early learning.
Develop engaging content, respond to messages, and create digital touchpoints that connect with our community.
What We’re Looking For
Diploma or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (Strongly Desired)
Previous leadership experience in a long day-care or early learning setting.
Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
Proven administrative experience in a front office or operations role.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
Proficiency in administrative and digital tools (email, databases, social media platforms).
Creative and confident in building community connections and online engagement.
Current First Aid Certificate
Valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and National Police Clearance.
