The Opportunity
As our Business Development Manager, you’ll be the first point of contact for future clients, identifying opportunities, nurturing long-term relationships, and helping shape projects from the ground up. You’ll collaborate closely with our design, estimating, and delivery teams to ensure every project starts strong and stays aligned with client goals.
What You’ll Do
Business Growth
Identify new project opportunities across education, early learning, aged care, commercial and community sectors.
Build strong, ongoing relationships with developers, architects, consultants, and key decision-makers.
Lead proposals and tenders with support from marketing, pre-construction and delivery teams.
Represent Coverite Projects at events, conferences, and industry forums.
Strategic Input
Engage in early-stage planning conversations to ensure alignment between client goals and project scope.
Monitor market trends and client needs to help shape strategic direction and service offerings.
Client Partnership
Work closely with clients from first engagement through to handover, building confidence and connection at every stage.
Maintain clear, consistent communication and foster a sense of trust and care throughout the client journey.
A Role Built on Relationships
At Coverite Projects, we value face-to-face connections. Building strong relationships means being present on-site, in meetings, and in the moments that matter.
While we’re based in Newcastle, this role involves regular travel across NSW and beyond. You’ll spend time visiting schools, aged care facilities, and commercial clients, identifying opportunities, listening to challenges, and confidently representing Coverite Projects.

What You Bring
5+ years’ experience in a business development or client-facing role (ideally within construction or property)
A confident communicator with exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
A solid understanding of construction processes, project lifecycles, and stakeholder management
Highly organised, proactive, and able to balance competing priorities with professionalism and care
Comfortable working autonomously, but just as committed to collaborating with internal teams
Bonus Points For
A strong network in construction or property development
Experience using CRM platforms (e.g. HubSpot) or project management tools (e.g. Monday.com)
Familiarity with D&C delivery models and feasibility planning
A genuine interest in education, aged care, and community-impact projects
