We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Account Manager or Senior Business Development Manager to build and nurture high-level relationships with Sydney’s top real estate groups.

About the Role

As a Senior Account Manager / Senior Business Development Manager, your mission will be to establish and expand strategic partnerships with leading real estate firms across Sydney. You will be responsible for engaging with executive-level stakeholders (Directors, CEOs, Heads of Sales and Marketing), understanding their business needs, and positioning Hougarden as their trusted digital advertising partner.

This is a senior-level role requiring a strategic, consultative sales approach, exceptional relationship management skills, and the ability to operate independently. You will report directly to the Executive Director – Global Partnerships and Strategy, and collaborate closely with teams across New Zealand, Australia, and China. Multilingual proficiency and a multicultural background are a plus.

A fully maintained company car is provided as part of the compensation package.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic business development: Identify and secure new business partnerships with Sydney’s top-tier real estate agencies and developer groups.

Executive relationship management: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with C-level executives and decision-makers.

Consultative sales: Understand client needs and tailor solutions using Hougarden’s suite of digital property advertising and multilingual marketing services.

Account growth: Drive ongoing engagement and revenue growth within key accounts through regular high-level reviews, strategic planning sessions, and introducing new product offerings.

Market intelligence: Maintain a deep understanding of the Sydney real estate market, competitor activities, and industry trends, providing regular insights back to the internal team.

Internal collaboration: Work closely with marketing, customer success, and leadership teams to ensure alignment in strategic account management and client delivery.

Brand ambassador: Represent Hougarden at industry events, conferences, and client networking functions to build brand awareness and reputation within the real estate community.

Key Requirements

Experience: Minimum 5+ years' proven success in senior-level account management or business development roles, preferably within real estate, property technology (PropTech), digital media, or related industries.

Relationship-building skills: Exceptional ability to engage, influence, and maintain long-term relationships with senior executives and business owners.

Strategic thinking: Ability to design and execute account growth strategies aligned with client business goals.

Cultural understanding: While fluency in Asian languages is not required, an understanding and appreciation of Asian cultures (particularly Chinese and Indian business etiquette) is highly desirable.

Communication skills: Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to confidently engage diverse client groups in a professional manner.

Self-motivated and results-driven: Highly organized, self-directed, and resilient, capable of independently managing complex accounts and long sales cycles.

Tech savvy: Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and general digital tools (Microsoft Office or Google Workspace).

Driver’s license: Valid Australian driver’s license, as the role includes regular client visits across Sydney.

Multilingual: Proficiency or working knowledge of any languages more than English (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu) is a bonus.
