Our client is one of Australia's foremost suppliers of packaging machinery and supplies. For over 35 years, they've curated a portfolio of products from around the world, in addition to manufacturing their own products that is now considered gold-standard in the industry today. Some of these products include (but isn't limited to):
- Heat sealers
- Strapping equipment
- Pallet wrappers
- Sealers
- Shrink Wrap
- Tape, ties & glue
- Food packaging
- Straps & Staplers
They supply through a defined distributor network, in addition to end users. Any medium, large or enterprise-sized business in Australia with distribution and/or warehousing facilities would be considered an 'ideal prospect', since they would require packaging machinery and equipment, so that their products are safely packaged and ready to be transported. While they serve many industry verticals, they are especially well positioned in the Food & Beverage sector (just to name one).
OPPORTUNITY
Due to growth, our client is seeking a Internal Account Manager responsible for the continued management of their SMB (small-medium business) customer base. This is not a hardcore sales position, there is very little cold calling (if any). All of the clients you'd be selling to are long-standing customers who regularly purchase packaging supplies from my client.
You'd spend most of your time working with the wider sales team, developing sales plans and approaching existing customers seeking renewal and replenishment opportunities for packaging supplies. Once you've obtained a request for quote, you'll generate this internally and follow it through to purchasing! It's a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a 'soft' sales position - you still get the thrill of chasing and winning sales, but you don't get all of the stress, rejection and disappointment of constantly being told 'no'.

CANDIDATES
To be considered for this role, you'll need to possess b2b (business to business) sales experience. It could be in any industry, so long as you've sold ANY sort of product or service to another business, we could consider you for the position. If you have a warehousing background, or by happenstance know a bit about packaging supplies even better!

- Software resellers (basic SaaS tools aimed at small business)
- Automotive aftermarket (e.g. small workshops, parts distributors)
- Insurance broking (small business-focused)
- Education and training sales (non-tertiary, e.g. RTOs)
- Energy brokerage (electricity/gas switching for SMEs)
- Trades services (e.g. fire services, electrical compliance, test and tag)
- Digital marketing agencies (SEO, Google Ads, websites for tradies/SMEs)
- Uniforms, workwear and PPE distributors
- Finance and equipment leasing brokers (targeting small businesses)
- Real estate supplier services (e.g. signboards, smoke alarm compliance)
