Medical Receptionist

Job Description:

WA SportsMed is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our administrative team.

About the role

The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for managing the front desk of our physiotherapy, health & performance practice. In this important role, the successful applicant will act as an information resource and ambassador to patients, the general public, referrers and staff. If you have experience in a medical receptionist role at a healthcare related practice, we encourage you to apply for this position.

This role is a casual/part time position (approx. 10 hrs/week), working a set roster with half day shifts and will require shift cover flexibility. This will include occasional Saturday’s. Some flexibility will be considered for the right candidate.

Duties will vary on a day-to-day basis but will include:

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Liaising with clinicians and patients in an efficient and timely manner

Maintaining efficient diary management

Excellent telephone manner

Maintaining patient confidentiality

Facilitating payments – EFTPOS, HICAPS, DVA and Medicare

Accurate data entry

Ability to work both independently and as a team member

Daily banking and reconciliation

Multitasking in a timely and efficient manner

Scanning documents as required

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, ambitious and a collaborative communicator. Previous work in the medical or fitness industry is essential.

Requirements

1+ yrs. reception experience

Previous experience in medical or fitness industry

Good knowledge of physiotherapy and practice terminology

Previous medical or allied health billing experience

Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Positive, ambitious, trustworthy and collaborative
