Vinova is partnering with an ambitious renewable energy developer who operates globally and is currently developing over 2GW of Solar, Wind, and BESS projects.

This organisation is entering a critical growth phase in Australia to support several significant projects. We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel who wants to play a pivotal role in the business and oversee $1bn worth of energy infrastructure projects. This role is based in Melbourne and requires the individual to be in the office at least 4 days per week.

With no one in this seat today, you'll shape how legal supports the business and work across everything from contract negotiation to project delivery and commercial strategy.

Role responsibilities:

• Lead negotiation and management of complex EPC, PPA, O&M and grid connection contracts on Renewable Energy Infrastructure Projects in Australia
• You will be responsible for being the legal lead on several significant renewable developments
• Collaborate with consultants (owner's engineer, planning team and grid connection team) and manage external counsel who will be responsible for writing the contracts
• Support the wider business from a legal perspective across lender arrangements, board resolutions, employment contracts, development partnerships and more

What are we looking for?

• 8+ years PQE with a solid foundation in a top-tier law firm with a proven track record
• Strong background in construction law
• Experience working directly in the Energy Transition industry
• Experience working on large EPC contracts in energy infrastructure
• Willingness to work across multiple functions supporting development and the wider business's success
• Ability to work and lead the legal function within the business
• Detail-oriented with a strong commercial mindset
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
