ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Enterprise Risk professional with Business Continuity and Resilience experience to join a dynamic Risk and Compliance team. Support the Head of Enterprise Risk and partner with multiple other Heads of Risk across the entire business while advising the executives strategically on industry best practice.

This vital role will have a direct impact on the fund’s ability to continue to grow and scale by managing overall business resilience for the entire organisation. Deliver oversight of Business Continuity Management (BCM) to the business by providing commercially sound compliance and risk advice. You will be an integral business partner across the organisation that ultimately ensures the business is prepared to respond and recover from any disruptions, disasters and crises.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) to support the business in creating Business Continuity Plans and impact analysis documentation;
  • Own the current GRC System and ensure future upgrades and transformations are effective to BCM/CMP data and controls;
  • Partner with the CTO and Technology team to ensure that technical recovery solutions are in place;
  • Conduct regular testing of Business Continuity (BC) and disaster recovery scenarios to provide qualitative analysis to the quantitative data to produce meaningful reports the business can utilise to demonstrate their state of readiness;
  • Collaborate closely with Line 1 personnel across the business to embed suitable BC plans into each business unit;
  • Line 2 SME, supervision and oversight of BC and Crisis Management (CM) across the organisation;
  • Identify and manage potential BC/CM and emerging risks to ensure the fund meets its obligations and complies with regulations;
  • Support the risk and compliance team and oversee the remediation and timely closure of risk and compliance incidents, breaches and assurance activities relating to BCP/CMP;
  • Create and consult the business on best practice return to office policies and procedures;
  • Review, challenge, facilitate and act as an advisor to the Head of Enterprise Risk and Leadership Team on risk profiling and assessments relating to BC, operational, and emerging risk areas;
  • Lead comprehensive reviews to provide insight on risk areas and trends to the Board and Audit and Risk Committees;
  • This role will have direct reports and will be responsible for educating internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to operational resilience, crisis management and business continuity.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in supporting the risk and compliance framework in a business in a Business Resilience/Continuity role within financial services is required;
  • Deep knowledge of Line 1 AND/OR Line 2 Compliance and Assurance ideally within the superannuation & financial services industry;
  • 4+ years’ BCM experience within 1st and/or 2nd lines-essential;
  • Strong understanding of emerging risks and challenges facing the superannuation and/or financial services industries;
  • Formidable communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of stakeholders;
  • Knowledge in risk management, compliance monitoring, and operational reporting and analysis;
  • Experience in supporting the broader risk and compliance team in developing a vigorous risk and compliance framework in relation to BC activities;
  • Understanding of the laws and current regulatory environment, particularly regarding APRA and ASIC as it relates to BC;
