About the Role
Workpac are seeking an experienced Project Planner on behalf of our client Rio Tinto. Reporting to the Superintendent of Project Controls, the Project Planner, will support the coordination, evaluation, and prioritization of project plans and will play a critical role in maintaining project schedules, reporting progress, and ensuring compliance with project controls processes.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in creating, maintaining, and reporting on project plans and schedules
Participate in schedule review meetings and update schedules as needed
Maintain the integrity of integrated project schedule
Support development of monthly schedule reports with proper analysis
Assist in tracking progress and updating commodity curves
Monitor project schedules and ensure compliance with standardized processes
Maintain strong relationships with contractors and project stakeholders
Collaborate with cost engineering and estimating teams on change impacts
Provide technical support and schedule analysis to project stakeholders
Skills and Experience Required
Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning or project controls
Strong understanding of project scheduling and reporting
Experience with cost engineering and project estimating
Ability to analyze and report implications of schedule changes
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Familiarity with project controls systems, tools, and best practices
