Short Description:

WorkPac is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of digital projects for a major mining client. This role requires a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, risk management, and project governance while fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Rio Tinto Operates the world's largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. These assets include a world-class, integrated network of 15 iron ore mines, four port facilities, a 1,700-kilometre rail network and related infrastructure. Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety, and environmental performance.

About the Position:

• Lead planning and delivery of large-scale digital projects from concept to execution

• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets

• Monitor risk, quality, and compliance across the project lifecycle

• Foster collaboration within cross-functional teams and stakeholders

• Apply Agile, SAFe, and other frameworks as required

• Support the implementation of strategy, culture, and operational improvements

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Define scope, milestones, and delivery schedules in collaboration with key stakeholders

• Ensure alignment with Rio Tinto’s project governance and methodologies

• Manage end-to-end execution of projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery

• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting

• Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring ongoing quality assurance

• Facilitate communication across business units to ensure transparency and alignment

• Provide leadership and coaching to cross-disciplinary teams

Skills and Experience Required:

• Relevant Project Management qualification (PMI, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, Diploma/Certificate in PM)

• Demonstrated success delivering complex projects in dynamic environments

• Strong knowledge of project management tools, schedules, change control, and cost tracking

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

• Experience with Agile and SAFe frameworks

• Strong understanding of technology and digital solutions in an industrial or mining context

• Flexibility for occasional site travel
