POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Managing Director, this position will undertake operational tasks to ensure the efficient, compliant and safe handling and container packing of grain at the Grass Valley Great Western Handling (GWH) site.

The site is located in the Avon Industrial Park, 10km east of Northam and in very close proximity to the new CBH Meenaar receival site. The park is fast becoming an agri and logistics hub for the region and the GWH facility is in a prime location within the park.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• In conjunction with the Managing Director (MD) oversee the successful operation of the facility.

• Safely deliver on operational targets and strategic objectives.

• Develop and execute grain receival and packing schedules.

• In conjunction with the MD ensure adherence to manufacturing standards, production methods, HR/IR and OH&S requirements.

• Involvement in continuous improvement initiative across the site.

• Undertake training as an Authorised Officer (AO) to oversee the inspection of empty containers and compliant loading of grain in containers for export as required by AQIS.

• Undertake training as a licensed fumigator to implement the fumigation protocols and required by AQIS.

• Ensuring grain quality and quantity is maintained to the highest standards.

• Provide hands-on assistance in all facets when required including basic mechanical maintenance of the equipment.

• Adhere to operations budget expenditure to ensure budget goals are met with no unexpected expenditure.

• Assist with the induction processes and provide training to employees.

• Manage and co-ordinate site-staff

• Build and develop relationships with growers, transport operators and external partners in a positive manner.

• Assist with the development of plans, risk assessments, work instructions, and required audits and ensure compliance with all other GWH Policies and Procedures.

• Ensure site, office and asset hygiene is maintained at a high standard of professionalism and cleanliness.

• Other duties as directed from time to time.
