THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer - Level 3in Sydney, to take technical ownership of large-scale automation projects. You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex control systems, mentoring junior engineers, and driving continuous improvements across the technology stack.

Key Responsibilities Design & Development

• Lead design of scalable and reliable control systems
• Develop and review high-quality automation code
• Apply best practices and ensure compliance development processes
• Stay current with industry innovations and technologies

Project Delivery

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Provide clear communication on project status, risks, and mitigations
• Deliver projects on time and within budget
• Available for domestic and international travel, as required

Documentation & Testing

• Provide clear and detailed design documentation
• Assist in the development of test procedures and user manuals
• Conduct rigorous factory testing and ensure quality assurance

Support & Maintenance

• Troubleshoot complex system issues
• Lead system upgrades while managing risk and minimising downtime
• Represent with professionalism and integrity

Quality, Health & Safety

• Uphold ISO 9001 standards and promote a safe, clean, and efficient workplace
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and 5S practices
• Participate in HSE activities and foster a resilient team culture

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years of experience in automation systems
• 5+ years in Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) or a similar industry
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work with sensitive information discreetly
• Effective communicator with the ability to influence and lead across all levels
• Willing and able to travel both nationally and internationally
