Senior Planner – Boutique Planning Firm | Major Clients | Sydney CBD

The Role
As a Senior Planner, you’ll coordinate and lead strategic and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver land-use strategies, planning proposals, DA guidance, rezoning advice, and planning approvals. You’ll work directly with key clients, often serving as their primary contact, providing expert planning advice across a range of project types.
Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and delivering DAs, REFs, Planning Proposals and feasibility investigations
• Supporting masterplanned community projects with the potential to lead them over time
• Advising on site acquisition and strategic planning initiatives
• Navigating planning pathways and local planning controls to achieve optimal client outcomes
• Providing technical advice to councils, government agencies, and private developers
• Contributing to planning policy, DCPs, and development contributions planning
• Mentoring junior staff and fostering a culture of high-quality work and collaboration

You Will Need

• A tertiary qualification in Urban or Town Planning (or a related discipline)
• Approximately 6+ years’ experience working in or alongside NSW local government or consultancies
• Deep knowledge of the NSW planning system, including DA and rezoning processes
• Familiarity with relevant SEPPs (Codes, Housing, Western Parkland City)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Leadership capability with strong stakeholder engagement skills
• NSW Driver’s License
