The Opportunity

As Program Manager, you will drive the vision, governance, and operational execution of a multi-year ICT program, critical to the agency's function. You’ll work closely with senior APS leaders, vendors, and digital teams to align initiatives toward national objectives.

The Role

You’ll oversee planning, delivery, and reporting in alignment with the Managing Successful Programs (MSP) framework. This role demands a proven leader who can manage multidisciplinary teams, oversee budgets, and drive delivery in a transparent and structured way.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining a clear program vision, blueprint, and roadmap aligned to strategic goals
• Establishing strong governance structures in line with departmental frameworks
• Leading a high-performing team of APS staff, contractors, and delivery partners
• Overseeing program budgets and financials in accordance with PGPA Act requirements
• Ensuring timely, transparent reporting to DTA and Finance through official channels
• Monitoring and mitigating strategic and operational risks across multiple tranches

The Ideal Person

You’re an accomplished program leader with experience in delivering high-impact ICT transformation projects in complex public sector environments.

You uplift staff, build positive team culture, and create credibly with stakeholders at all levels. A solid understanding of government budget frameworks, DTA assurance, and multi-vendor delivery environments will be key to your success.

A background in federal government programs and familiarity with central agency processes will be highly regarded.

Salary / Rate

• $140/hr - $170/hr including Superannuation
