Love cafe food and ready to take the lead?

Commonfolk Group is hiring not one, but two Head Chefs. One for our Frankston venue and one for Mornington. You’ll need to let us know which kitchen you’re keen on (or if you’re up for either).

About the roles:

Develop seasonal cafe menus focused on fresh, local ingredients and minimal waste.

Creatively integrate our coffee story into the menu by referencing the cultures and cuisines of the countries we partner with (think Uganda, Brazil, Mexico and more).

Lead and manage kitchen teams at your venue, building a supportive, motivated crew.

Handle our functions and catering menus.

Keep an eye on food trends and bring fresh ideas to the table.

Collaborate closely with kitchen teams and management across all Commonfolk venues, to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience.

Who we're after:

Someone who cooks with confidence, embraces innovation, and takes pride in creating food that celebrates what cafe cuisine can be.

A strong, values-driven leader who communicates clearly and directly, with empathy and respect.

Someone who builds team culture, mentors others, and understands the value of consistency and systems.

Solid knowledge of kitchen ops: rostering, COGs, supplier management, prep systems, and food safety.

Comfortable collaborating closely with hands-on owners and venue managers.
