About the role:
As the Community Awareness and Engagement Officer, you will lead initiatives to increase awareness of headspace Roma’s programs and promote early help-seeking among young people. Your role will focus on designing and delivering community engagement strategies, coordinating health promotion activities and supporting the involvement of young people and families. You’ll build partnerships with local services, schools and community groups to promote youth voices and promote mental health literacy. Your responsibilities will also include:
- Developing and implementing a Community Awareness Strategy;
- Planning and coordinating events and campaigns;
- Assisting with the creation of communication materials and content across digital channels;
- Developing and maintaining relationships with schools, community groups and health services;
- Representing headspace Roma at community events; and
- Supporting the development of an annual calendar of community engagement and health promotion activities.
About you:
To be successful in the role, you will have training and experience in Health Promotion, Community Development, Public Health, or a related field. You will have experience in planning, delivering and evaluating community engagement or health promotion initiatives and understand the importance of giving young people a voice. Tertiary Qualifications will be highly regarded. You will also possess a:
- Current driver's licence;
- Commitment to undergoing necessary police and/or working with children checks; and
- Willingness to undertake relevant training to support your role.
