About the Role
Intelligentsia Consulting is seeking an experienced TSPV-cleared Intelligence Analyst to join a team at Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC). This operational-level position is critical to delivering timely and actionable intelligence for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in support of global operations.
The Intelligence Analyst will contribute to high-impact, all-source intelligence assessments and products that inform operational planning, strategic decision-making, and real-time threat analysis.
This role offers the opportunity to engage in complex intelligence tasks across regional and global theatres, contribute to the integration of intelligence and operations, and support Australia’s defence and security objectives in a high-tempo, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
As an embedded member, the Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for:
Delivering all-source intelligence analysis to support ADF operations, with emphasis on operational environments, threat assessments, and real-time situational awareness.
Producing a range of intelligence outputs including summaries, supplementary reports, situation updates, intelligence briefs, and structured analytical techniques (SAT) products.
Supporting intelligence planning and operational effects development, particularly focused on themes such as women, peace and security (WPS), gender, and cultural considerations.
Providing support during exercises and surge operations, which may require extended working hours (up to 60 hours/week including weekends during periods of increased operational tempo). Attractive overtime rates apply.
Liaising with stakeholders across the Defence Intelligence Enterprise and Five Eyes (FVEY) community to ensure intelligence integration and professional development.
Contributing to the maintenance of deep, persistent analysis on key areas of strategic and operational interest.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Demonstrated experience in intelligence analysis at the operational or strategic level, using all-source methodologies.
Current TSPV clearance.
Not currently subject to the Defence moratorium.
Willingness to complete or current holder of the Joint Operational Planning Course (JOPC) qualification.
Highly Desirable:
Completion of the Advanced Intelligence Course or equivalent relevant training.
Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., international relations, intelligence studies, security studies).
Proficiency in structured analytical techniques and ability to apply tradecraft in time-sensitive operational environments.
Experience working in Defence or interagency environments and a strong understanding of ADF operations.
Work Conditions
Base hours: 40 hours/week, on-site at HQJOC Bungendore
Surge periods and operational exercises may require extended hours up to 12 hours/day and 60 hours/week (including weekends). Attractive overtime rates apply
