The Role

As the new Account Manager – Commercial Lighting, you will play a key role in growing our client's business across South East Queensland. You’ll split your time between the Brisbane CBD and Design Community (approximately 3 days per week) and being on the road visiting clients across the region. In this hybrid role, you will:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial clients (architects, designers, builders, and electrical contractors).
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and sales leads in the Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and Gold Coast areas.
  • Provide expert product advice and lighting solutions tailored to client needs (don’t worry – you'll receive training to get you up to speed on the technical details).
  • Collaborate with the internal support, design, and technical teams to ensure client projects run smoothly from proposal to delivery.
  • Maintain records of your sales pipeline and client interactions using CRM tools, ensuring you stay on top of your targets and client follow-ups.

This role will require travel within the region, so a valid driver's license is essential. You'll report to a Queensland Sales Manager who is committed to helping you succeed through regular coaching and support.

About You

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic sales professional who is eager to learn and grow. To excel in this role, you will have:

  • Sales experience: Approximately 1–4 years in sales or account management, ideally in commercial lighting or a related industry (electrical, building products, etc.).
  • Relationship skills: A people-person who can build rapport with clients like developers, contractors, and designers. You communicate well and can tailor your approach to different stakeholders.
  • Drive & initiative: A self-starter who isn’t afraid to prospect for new business. You take initiative, set goals for yourself, and enjoy the thrill of winning new accounts.
  • Technical aptitude: While you don’t need to be an engineer, you have the ability to learn product specs and lighting solutions. (Any background in a technical or construction-related field is a bonus.)
  • Team player mindset: Someone who thrives in a supportive, team-oriented culture. You’re open to coaching, eager to improve, and willing to share knowledge with others.
  • Flexibility: Based in South East Queensland – whether that's Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast or the Gold Coast – and able to travel to Brisbane for office days and client meetings (approximately 3 days per week in the Brisbane office). A valid driver’s license is a must.
