Jenner & Co Logistics & Supply Chain recruitment is looking for a commercially savvy Strategic Account Manager for one of its logistics clients in Melbourne.
The Strategic Account Manager will oversee the management of assigned customer accounts of a large or strategic nature, leading commercial and operational performance to enhance brand value, customer
experience, and financial outcomes. The role is to lead the core relationship between the customer and the business, interacting at all levels of the customer organisation through to C-suite, driving strategy, advocacy, service and growth.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional service to high-value customers, ensuring their unique needs are met.
Identify and articulate service opportunities that enhance value for senior stakeholders within the portfolio.
Proactively identify and resolve service failures, ensuring swift resolutions to maintain satisfaction.
Analyse and address systemic service issues in collaboration with the Carrier Management team.
Foster strong relationships with senior management across customer organizations, facilitating strategic meetings to discuss opportunities and challenges.
Cultivate connections that drive engagement and collaboration with key decision-makers.
Monitor customer activities and service alignment to ensure optimal delivery and usage of implemented services.
Provide strategic advice to customers and carriers, focusing on continuous improvement in freight service coordination.
Regularly evaluate carrier services with an emphasis on optimizing service delivery and enhancing customer value.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement that benefit customers and enhance yield for the business.
Complete and distribute detailed customer meeting notes and actions to capture insights and commitments.
Maintain comprehensive notes from carrier meetings, tracking commitments and actions.
Ensure accurate upkeep of customer reporting databases, facilitating effective data management.
Continuously develop and refine solutions that meet the evolving requirements of high-value customers.
Drive growth by identifying additional business opportunities within existing customer accounts.
Leverage relationships to expand business with related entities and secure recommendations.
Deliver timely and insightful reporting, including Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly Review presentations as required, demonstrating understanding of the customer organisation, goals and requirements.
Experience required:
Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in a senior Business Development, Account Management, or Customer Service role.
Ability to work under pressure during intense situations.
Outstanding negotiation skills with a track record of success.
Proven ability to identify and implement ideas that enhance customer and service provider quality.
Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven ability to thrive in both structured and unstructured work environments.
Excellent time management skills.
High IT competency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Professional conduct and presentation at all times.
Review customer reporting trends to identify key insights, providing a detailed explanation of the underlying factors. Additionally, propose actionable strategies to address any issues and improve outcomes.
