The Role
As a Community Hubs and SETS Support Coordinator, you will manage the operations and support for Community Hubs in Rockhampton, fostering connections between families and the wider community. You will also provide support under the Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) program, helping eligible migrants and humanitarian entrants navigate their settlement needs. This role will allow you to make a meaningful impact on the local community while supporting multicultural families and individuals.
This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed-term position based in Rockhampton.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Coordinate and support the three Community Hubs in Rockhampton (0.5 FTE).
Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to Hub Leaders.
Work with Hub Leaders and school principals to identify service gaps.
Facilitate meetings with Hub Leaders and regional Queensland teams.
Review and submit data collected by the Hubs.
Under the SETS program (0.3 FTE), provide support to humanitarian entrants and eligible migrants, including assessments, referrals, and casework as needed.
Assist with client assessments, planning, and referrals under the SETS service framework.
Build and maintain relationships with local service providers and community stakeholders.
Ensure culturally responsive and holistic support for clients and families.
Develop and implement community engagement strategies and activities.
Support SETS services through individual casework, group work, and community development initiatives.
Contribute to the development of cultural competency practices within the team.
Participate in networking and community awareness-raising initiatives as needed.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Demonstrated understanding of the needs of families in vulnerable communities, particularly women and children (0-5 years).
Experience in leading teams that deliver programs supporting families from diverse backgrounds.
Proven ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with community groups, agencies, and government departments.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage culturally diverse communities.
Experience in casework, referrals, and community development.
Queensland Driver’s Licence, Blue Card (Working with Children), and National Police Clearance required.
Additional Desirable Skills:
Experience working cross-culturally and/or in multicultural communities.
Knowledge of settlement services and frameworks for supporting newly arrived migrants and refugees.
