Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) is looking for several Case Managers and Partnership Practitioners to join the Case Management and Outreach team and the Partnerships team.

DVCS is a non-government, not-for-profit specialist domestic and family violence service that seeks to reduce violence and abuse in relationships. DVCS provides crisis and long-term support services to help break the domestic and family violence cycle. DVCS is here to support people, both during and after crisis situations as well as support programs for those who use violence, with the aim of bringing about change.

DUTIES
The Case Manager and Partnership Practitioner roles include:
Working with people subjected to domestic and family violence including safety planning, outreach and advocacy.
Providing case management to women with complex support needs including outreach and advocacy, including to DVCS clients in emergency accommodation
Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and undertake safety planning as part of a comprehensive case management plan
Assist to maximise the safety and wellbeing of children and young people affected by domestic violence
Liaising and networking with relevant government and community agencies as required including Police, Legal Aid, Courts and accommodation providers
Recording relevant data and client case notes during each shift and supporting effective handover of ongoing matters
Working within a small team environment
Participating in the preparation of reports, data collection, administrative tasks, program development work, consultation and collaborative meetings as requested by the Case Management and Outreach Team Leader
SELECTION CRITERIA
All applicants must meet and address the following Selection Criteria in writing.
Relevant qualifications and/or experience in roles including domestic and family violence crisis support, case management, social work, men’s behaviour change, violence prevention, child protection, DFV risk assessment and management or related, including working with people who have experienced trauma.
Demonstrated experience in domestic and family violence, including risk assessment and risk management, crisis intervention and support, case management intake and triage.
Understanding of the drivers and impact of domestic and family violence, including gender-based violence.
Experience in trauma-informed, client-centred responses for individuals, including children and young people impacted by domestic and family violence.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to liaise with a wide variety of people including colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
Able to prioritise competing tasks and ensure deadlines are met and expectations managed when issues arise.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
Demonstrated ability to make sound judgements including in high-risk situations.
Demonstrated commitment to the values of equity, inclusion and diversity.
Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card.
Current driver’s licence.
