A little about the role

Reporting to the Territory Director ACT, the Recruitment & Panel Manager will oversee the entire recruitment process for prospective Foster and Kinship Carers, managing recruitment, training, and assessments while delivering exceptional customer service. You will also play a key role in developing and maintaining effective recruitment strategies, ensuring a diverse range of activities are executed in line with statutory and agency requirements to attract and support carers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the full recruitment process for Foster and Kinship Carers, from initial enquiries to training and assessment.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies, ensuring alignment with regional placement targets and statutory guidelines.
  • Supervise and support the Recruitment and Panel team, including Recruitment Administrators and Assessing Social Workers, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality outcomes.
  • Organize recruitment events and promotional campaigns to raise awareness and attract potential foster carers.
  • Maintain compliance with child protection policies, ensuring all processes prioritize the safety and welfare of children.

The base salary for this position is $106,389.92 - $111,092.80 per annum (based on 1.0EFT) + super + Salary packaging options up t $15,900 per annum. This is a full-time ongoing position.


About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll come with:

  • A recognised social work qualification or equivalent.
  • Prior experience of family placement and/or children’s services at a senior level.
  • Prior experience of Foster Carer Recruitment.
  • A solid understanding of relevant child protection legislation and government initiatives in Australian Capital Territory.
  • A strong understanding of recruitment and marketing strategies to attract and retain high-quality foster carers.
