About the Role
As the new Senior Advisor, Industrial Relations, you will play a pivotal role in providing timely, expert, strategic and operational advice on industrial relations issues to the Minister for Industrial Relations, Premier's Department Executive and public sector agencies to support informed decision-making and effective workforce management.
This is a unique opportunity to develop and implement impactful policies, strategies and initiatives that shape the future of the NSW public sector. Your advice will help agencies interpret and comply with industrial instruments, resolve disputes, and align workplace practices with public sector reform objectives.
In this leadership role, you will also represent the Department and Industrial Relations Secretary in forums and tribunals, advocate for strategic outcomes, and influence change across complex industrial and employment relations matters. You'll work in a highly collaborative, cross-agency environment and contribute directly to delivering government priorities.

We're Looking For
- Industrial Relations Expertise: In-depth knowledge of workplace legislation, awards, agreements, and current IR practices
- Strategic Policy Development: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement industrial relations strategies aligned with government priorities
- Advocacy and Representation: Experience representing organisations in tribunals and high-level forums
- Written Communication: Proven ability to prepare high-quality briefs, submissions, and reports for senior stakeholders
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong negotiation, consultation and relationship management skills with diverse stakeholders
- Problem Solving and Advisory: Ability to deliver clear, practical advice in a complex and fast-changing regulatory environment.
