We are seeking an experienced and proactive Building Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in the delivery of custom residential builds. This role is suited to a detail-oriented professional with 3+ years of experience managing both on-site and pre-site processes in the custom building industry.
You will be responsible for coordinating the construction process from project handover through to final delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Site Coordination:
Liaise with internal teams (design, drafting, estimating, and sales) to prepare for construction commencement.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, and suppliers to ensure all approvals, selections, and documentation are completed prior to site start.
Manage workflow and timelines for pre-construction milestones, including building permits, energy reports, engineering, and client selections.
Review and finalize construction documentation and contracts.
On-Site Coordination:
Oversee and support the site team during construction, ensuring project specifications, schedules, and standards are met.
Act as the central communication point between clients, trades, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure site safety compliance.
Manage variations, timelines, and progress claims in collaboration with the construction team.
General Duties:
Maintain project documentation, update project management software, and report on project status.
Ensure a smooth client experience through clear communication and expectation management.
Assist with defect inspections, handover preparation, and post-construction client support.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within the residential building industry.
Proven understanding of both pre-site processes and on-site construction management.
Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and residential construction methods.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documentation.
