About the role:

The permanent full-time position of IT/OT Network Administrator is directly accountable and responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining the City’s physical security computing environment. This includes servers, infrastructure and networks to ensure optimal performance, security, and integrity of systems that provide asset protection and enhance safety for City of Swan staff, visitors and the wider community.

As the City is responsible for the management of over $3 billion of community assets, including community buildings and public open spaces requiring asset protection (physical security) and we are looking for someone to support and administer the City’s on-premises physical security stack such as electronic security management systems, video surveillance systems (CCTV), electronic key safe and intercom systems that protect and secure the City’s assets and underpin the City’s on-premises Security Control Room.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ongoing monitoring of operational status of the physical security computing environment, troubleshooting and resolving any issues arising.
  • Directing and managing external security contractors delivering specialist IT/OT engineering and technician services.
  • Working with vendors to support the City’s physical security IT / OT operations, including project scoping, project implementation, system and hardware maintenance, and other processes.
  • Working with other IT and peer teams to ensure standards and technologies are in line with the City’s overall technical direction and security posture.
  • Delivery of outstanding customer service and be community minded with a willingness to improve the quality of life for our community.
  • Provide IT / OT Network and Infrastructure technical advice.
  • Complete all work in a safe and efficient manner having regard to own safety, the public, and that of other workers.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Security Monitoring Licence, or willingness to obtain
  • CCNA or equivalent Network Certification
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate
  • Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of an IT or OT Network Administrator role within a government or commercial environment
  • Ability to research, analyse, evaluate and solve computing problems in a timely manner with accuracy

The salary for this position will be from $81,628.92 - $101,210.00 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
