Drafting Manager – Leadership Opportunity in a Growing Team

Redpath Partners have partnered with a well-established client who is seeking an experienced Drafting Manager to step into a pivotal leadership role.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a dynamic drafting function and drive excellence across both local and offshore teams.

About the Role:

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you’ll lead the end-to-end drafting operations ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and delivery excellence. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining quality standards, improving workflows, and supporting team growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full drafting lifecycle, including workflow coordination, contract drawings, and construction documentation.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of in-house and offshore drafters to meet deadlines and exceed KPIs.
• Ensure drafting outputs align with quality, compliance, and project timelines.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives across drafting systems and processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to support smooth project delivery.
• Build strong working relationships with external stakeholders including developers, building surveyors, and third-party suppliers to resolve queries and support documentation accuracy.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in a drafting or team leadership role ideally within the residential or commercial building industry.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and drafting principles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams, including remote/offshore staff.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• A proactive and supportive leader who thrives on mentoring others and cultivating a high-performance team culture.
