Are you passionate about the arts and committed to creating inclusive and inspiring cultural experiences? HOTA (Home of the Arts) is seeking a dynamic Exhibition Project Coordinator to play a pivotal role in delivering an engaging and diverse program for the HOTA Gallery.
About the Role
This position involves assisting in the development, installation, and upkeep of exhibitions and displays. Working closely with the Exhibitions Manager, HOTA Gallery, the Exhibitions Project Coordinator will contribute to the smooth execution of the gallery’s exhibition schedule and ensure the highest standards of presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in the planning, installation, and deinstallation of exhibitions, ensuring that all elements are set up according to the approved design.
Coordinating with artists, curators, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of exhibitions.
Assisting in the managing of exhibition schedules and assisting with the preparation of materials and
logistics.
Maintaining and ensuring the proper care of artwork and exhibition displays throughout the duration of the
program.
Conducting regular checks on exhibition installations, ensuring the safety and security of artworks and
displays.
Providing support during the opening and closing events for exhibitions, including logistical coordination
and guest services.
Collaborating with the marketing and communications team to provide exhibition information for
promotional materials.
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute ideas for enhancing the exhibition experience
Assisting with budget management and resource allocation related to exhibition activities.
Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed in the installation and management of exhibitions.
What We’re Looking For:
Knowledge & Experience
Relevant qualifications in visual arts, curatorial or museum studies and/or relevant experience working in a
gallery or museum environment.
A contemporary knowledge of international museum standards and the gallery/museum sector.
Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and operations of exhibitions institution to
international museum/ art gallery standards.
Experience in project coordination including the ability to plan projects effectively and achieve desired
outcomes.
High level of manual dexterity and ability to effectively perform various skilled tasks pertaining to the
fabrication, installation and deinstall of exhibitions and displays.
Demonstrated ability to work in small multi-disciplinary team, with limited supervision.
Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication and consultation skills.
General office administration and computer skills, including Microsoft 365.
Other Requirements
Current police check, or willingness to obtain one.
Current driver’s license (essential) (manual desirable).
