We currently have a position available for a Sewing Team Leader. The position is full time and will be based out of our facility in Derrimut. The successful applicants will be responsible for:

Overseeing day-to-day functions of a small Sewing Team with close support provided by our Production Manager.

Providing guidance and process advice to staff to ensure tasks are completed correctly and meeting specified standards.

Helping to identify areas of improvement for the Sewing Team and assisting local management to implement strategies designed to improve business performance.

Manage and motivate the Sewing Team as required.

A range of operational functions are also required including, but not limited to:

Sub assembly of mattress components using a variety of different sewing machines.

Inspecting finished components to ensure they are of superior quality.

Picking raw materials for sub assembly.

Completing basic operator maintenance to ensure the safety and functionality of machinery.

Housekeeping.

Assisting with other manufacturing tasks as required.

To be successful in this role you must possess prior experience leading a team of people in an industrial environment. You must also have experience operating a sewing machine in an industrial environment (e.g., clothing, upholstery, textiles). In addition, you must:

Have a consultative approach to leadership and be confident contributing to production and strategy meetings.

Be physically fit and capable of performing a demanding role.

Be able to work flexibly, within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable work demands.

Prior experience in a mattress manufacturing environment would be highly regarding.

You will need to supply two work-related referees; one of which will be used to validate your relevant manufacturing experience. As part of the recruitment process, you will need to undertake a pre-employment medical.

An attractive and rewarding hourly rate is on offer. Overtime paid at penalty rates is also available during peak periods.
