The Coffs Harbour Bypass is a 14 kilometre upgrade to the Pacific Highway, consisting of a 12-kilometre bypass from the Englands Road intersection to Korora Hill and a two-kilometre upgrade of the existing Pacific Highway from Korora Hill to Sapphire Beach.

The Delivery Director is a leadership role supporting a Project Director to ensure the development and delivery of this major project to time, cost and quality requirements. The position guides and drives project delivery across several project locations, some large and complex and often operating continuously. It ensures the project is planned to best practice project, contract and asset management standards, in compliance with planning approvals, on a commercially sound basis and to the satisfaction of the key stakeholders and the community.

The role will be responsible for the resolution of complex project issues and challenges with the consortia, internal Transport for NSW branches and various Government agencies as applicable and for leading high-level consultations and negotiations to ensure that the project program and budget are maintained. The role works with the Project Director to manage competing pressures between project scope, performance, cost, program and risk, while meeting stakeholder expectations and longer-term community needs in an environment of intense public scrutiny.

The role operates with significant autonomy in the management and delivery of the unit. The role allocates work to the team and is an escalation point for complex or contentious matters. The role develops frameworks, policies and procedures across the Agency to drive efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery for TfNSW. The role is fully accountable for the quality and integrity of the advice provided.

Over the next few months key milestones include a number of traffic switches, the opening of a new ITS system a number of bridge openings.

You will have experience in all stages of a complex infrastructure project life-cycle, experience in all stages of a complex infrastructure project life-cycle, planning and delivery process and specific experience in Design & Construct contracts, planning and delivery processes.

Based in Coffs Harbour, there may be occasional night or weekend works, so flexibility is expected.
