AI Solution Architect & Delivery Lead – Generative AI Focus | Education Sector | Sydney | $1200 - $1400 per day

About the Role
Sitting within a high-performing AI delivery team, this role leads the charge on GenAI solution architecture, project delivery, and internal capability building. From early-stage discovery and stakeholder engagement to scaling enterprise-grade systems, you’ll be the key link between technical teams and strategic outcomes.
Your background in consulting or managing enterprise technology projects will equip you to lead complex initiatives, mentor technical staff, and articulate the value of AI/ML to non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and delivery of Generative AI applications (LLMs, embeddings, RAG, agents, orchestration).
• Build scalable, secure AI systems integrating data pipelines, APIs, automation, and observability.
• Ensure production-grade AI solutions meet performance, security, and maintainability standards.
• Offer strategic guidance on AI/ML/GenAI design, development, and deployment.

Client Engagement & Project Leadership

• Drive early-stage engagement: opportunity discovery, solution framing, proposals, and PoCs.
• Conduct workshops with business stakeholders, translating complex AI concepts into accessible strategies.
• Shape and implement AI roadmaps that align with institutional and educational goals.
• Establish credibility with senior leaders and help them envision GenAI’s business impact.

Team & Capability Development

• Mentor a growing team of AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and early-career technologists.
• Define and evolve GenAI delivery frameworks, reference architectures, and playbooks.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and excellence in AI delivery.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Background in enterprise delivery: Proven experience leading large-scale digital or AI/ML projects - ideally from a consulting background or high-growth tech environment.
• Technical acumen: Comfort with core AI/ML and Generative AI concepts (LLMs, orchestration, automation), even if you're not hands-on.
• Client leadership: Skilled at building trust with senior stakeholders and communicating technical ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Delivery expertise: Strong track record of managing full project lifecycles - from scoping and PoCs to implementation and scaling.
• Mentorship mindset: Passion for guiding and growing technical teams while contributing to delivery excellence and team culture.
